A few weeks ago we made "living letters" using cardboard, potting soil and grass seed.

I cut out a piece of cardboard from the side of a box. Use thick cardboard because you need to keep your letters watered of the next few weeks. On the cardboard I drew a big block letter--K-- is for Kimberly!

Fill the block letter in with potting soil. We discovered that it was easier for Kimmy to use a popsicle stick to spread the potting soil than anything else.

Fill your letter in with grass seed.

Keep the grass seed moist. The potting soil is so thin you need to water it a couple time a day.

Day 3--we see grass!!

After 10 days, we had our living letter "K".
