Happy Thanksgiving

There are very few, if any, Thanksgivings I can remember that could be enjoyed outside in central New York.  But today was the perfect day.
We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house.  All ten kids arrived so, of course, I took that opportunity to take a family photo.
Laura appears to be ready for the picture, but Daddy is having a hard time getting the others arranged.
 Picture perfect!!
Laura seemed to be ready for many photo opportunities...

 Laura with Danny
and Laura, enjoying pre-dinner treats outside.
The weather was even good enough for a little soccer.
Amy traveled 7 hours to be with us!
 Outdoor hor'dourves
Gracie is almost in the "grown-up" girl club
We also partook in the annual drawing names for our family gift exchange.

The perfect Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

New hats!

Cousin Jenny sent these very cute gingerbread men (and women) hats to the kids.
They are so cute!!
Laura is 17 and she has now requested one also...so they are a big hit.
Thanks so much Barton family!

These came out so cute....perfect for our church's craft sale.

Our Favorite Autumn and Pumpkin Picture Books

Over the past month we have been enjoying pumpkin and autumn books during our little school storytime.
We are always reading a chapter book or two aloud and any giving time, but was also read several picture books a day.  Usually they are on the same topic for a couple of weeks and them we move on to a new topic.
You can click on the picture to enlarge it, and then check out the titles and authors.
All our books are from the library---we just don't have the space to keep such a large supply of books in the house, so I use the interloan library service all-the-time!
It is great to order the books on line, and then in a few days we are able to run into the library and pick up a whole stack of great books in a matter of minutes.
We have now moved on to our Thanksgiving Day picture books.

Ear piercing day

It was a big day for Kimberly and Gracie today.
It was ear piercing day.
Daddy and I took them to the "big" mall.  I was so pleased with the choices the girls had for their first earrings.
Kimmy picked Hello Kitty earrings.
Gracie has beautiful daisies.
The best part of the day was when Kimberly was sitting in the chair, and brother Luke was so nervous for her, he went over and held her hand.
What a wonderful big brother!!
