October is national fire safety month, so we headed off with our homeschool group to the fire house for a field trip today.

Everyone had a chance to "drive" the truck. We learned all about where the firemen live and the things that they do while they are not out fighting fires or rescuing people.

Gracie found out first hand about how firemen can help us. The kids learned many safety rules for staying safe from fire, and how to get out of a burning building.

Gracie learned that it takes a lot of muscle to hold a firehose. She also learned that we need to make an escape plan for our house and practice getting out of the house quickly.

Mark had enough muscle to hold the hose on his own. Great Job! Mark!
Everyone please remember to check the batteries is your smoke detectors.
