Why you should check the weather before heading to the beach in Central New York

The sun was shining from a brilliant blue sky all day today.
It was a tad bit cool--about 70 degrees--but heck,
compared to our chilly temps lately,
70 degrees is a heat wave.
We had no car today while daddy was at work
so we waited until he got home at 3 o'clock and then jumped in the car.
The sun shone down on us---although the seagulls were not obeying the signage around the beach.
We played
and splashed
and lined up for photos, but then the sky turned dark.
The sky turned dark and the seagulls headed wherever seagulls go when the wind comes up, blowing in a storm.
We quickly had to unbury the children.
The kids were amazed as the temperature began to drop and the wind began to blow.
Sisters saved each other as we ran to the van--one hour after we arrived.

Oh, don't you hate when that happens? We never believe the weatherman, regardless, so we're always surprised, whether it stays nice or turns stormy.

Looks like that was one hour full of fun, though.

You have such a beautiful family!
I am so glad you came by my blog to say "hi"! It's always so nice to meet other mamas to many, esp when they are Christian & homeschoolers too!

Looks like a great day at the beach.
