Exploring China- Part 2

We have continued our study of China, and were thrilled to discover that some of our favorite things were invented in there.

Mark filled in this chart that we added to our China display.

We decided that our favorite things invented are fireworks, so we made this simple crayon picture on black paper to add to our learning wall. We have also learned about many of the animals that are native to China. You can see many of them on our China display. We have read two very cute books about pandas: Pi-Shu the Little Panda and The Legend of the Panda.
I found these panda masks here, and Kim and Luke have been enjoying playing with them.Mark and Grace also learned about pandas by watching this little video from National Geographic.

Stay tuned: we have a little bit more to learn about China.

Thanks for the panda mask. It is so cute, where did you find the site for that? Are there other masks to do? Great fireworks too!!!
Thanks Lori

Lori,
The panda mask was on the site: www.nationalzoo.si.edu

I haven't looked for more masks, but this panda mask is certainly cute!

My inlaws went to China last spring ~ and we thought, "Why would you want to go to China?" But, they said it was one of their best trips ~ that it's an amazing, beautiful country. And they said that the most outstanding feature in 2008 is the forests of cranes in the cities ~ building! This is a country on the fastrack to a western-style economy.
