Autumn in our little world

I can't believe we are almost done with the third week of October.  The leaves are falling and the breeze is getting cool. It's too bad that schoolwork isn't getting done like it should, but with the beautiful weather we've had a few unexpected distractions, it couldn't be helped.
Kimberly caught a picture of our resident hot air balloon between the trees.
red, orange and yellow..all in one tree
Mark the goalie is in fine form.
The sewn tie business is going well...Luke, modeling Mark's tie.
The underside is handsewn on my ties.
Some of Laura's crocheted dinosaurs.... shoot me an email if you would like to order one..or more.
We joined the whole of America to say the rosary for peace in this world. Gracie led a decade of the complete rosary... The sun was shining down on us!
Carson is 2 months now and is over 11 pounds...that's a great achievement when you start out a little over 6 pounds. He loves to have Daddy read to his baby.
double duty... paci sucking and thumb sucking...
I love everyone who reads this blog!
 Practicing for trick or treating..
 Cousin It
 Dan turned 24 this week...
Dan received a Dr. Who scarf as a gift...well, acutally, it was a small portion of a scarf, with knitting needles attached and a photo  of the finished product.
There is sure to be many more leaves to fall before "fall" is over.

Birthday Buddies and Hobbit birthdays

Today Dan turned 23 years old....
A blast from the past...

Dan's a turtle!
 Blow, Dan blow....
Of course, 23 years ago, Becky got Danny as a birthday present...a third brother was NOT what she wanted...but thankfully, she likes him now and happily shares birthday parties.
 Becky turns 27 tomorrow.
She is still a beauty...
 You can do it!!!
In Hobbit tradition, Dan bought everyone gifts for his birthday.
I think the kids could get used to this tradition, especially since there are so many birthdays throughout the year.
 Kim has creepy eyes....
Dan signed all the books, making them all very special

The gift of books also made for a quiet birthday night.

Happy 20th Dan!

Tonight we wished Danny an early 20th birthday before he hopped a train to the west coast.
This is what happens when I don't ask Becky to make a cake.
Thoughtful Dan, pondering a "cupcake creation". (It's the thought that count, right??)
Now I am sending prayers for a safe trip, from coast to coast and back again.

I am so blessed!!!

A country girl headed to the city......
it was pretty scary.....being a country girl much more used to corn fields and waiting for geese to cross the road.....
but after 4 hours the country girl arrived at this amazing place....Saint John Neumann Seminary....I was in awe.....
and this country girls' son....looked wonderful----perfect----like he belongs there....
I was so happy to hug him and know with my own eyes the joy he is finding here.
And then this countrygirl is sitting at the seminarians picnic and who comes to the picnic but Father Benedict Groeschel....I held his hands...
I am blessed.....

Backyard science---Daniel + a film canister + baking soda + vinegar = a rocket that shoots 20 feet into the air, just be careful of the vinegar trail it leaves on the audience...

A Dress-up kind of night

Laura-Daniel-Amy
My teenagers have the great priviledge of attending a wonderful little school--Holy Cross Academy. The smallness of this school allows all the kids to grow together in their faith and friendships.
One thing that is looked forward every spring is the high school formal dinner dance.
It provides the kids an opportunity to dress up and enjoy the many friendships that are nurtured at school.

My beautiful "middle" girls--Amy and Laura
(when did these "middles" become so grown-up)
Laura
Amy and friends Michaela and Megan

Everyday I thank God for blessing me with this beautiful children---beautiful on the ourside, but also, more importantly, on the inside!!
