Happy 20th Birthday, Laura!!

Laura and her best buddy, Luke...I now have 6 children in their twenties.
That's just crazy!!  That's 60% for my children!
We had a little crowd for Laura's pizza and tater wedges dinner.
I was sorry to be missing Matt and Alexis, Amy and Lianna.
The four "littles"---all under 20 years old
 Happy, happy birthday, Laura!!
I love you...even though it took a couple blows to get all those candle out!

Melted Crayon on Canvas

We have been wanting to do this art project for quite a while now.  It is the melted Crayola crayons on canvas project.
The first step is to hot glue your crayons to the top of a canvas...make sure the Crayola logo is on top (I like the look of it). Grace did random colors.
We used the blow dryer on high heat.  I put newspaper down on the floor to catch the drips.
And the magic began to happen...aim the blow dryer with a downward slant.
Laura made a rainbow of colors.
I loved the look of the liquid crayon as it mixed on the newspaper.

 The final results.
Great job, Grace.

Soccer Season Has Begun

A view of our enthusiastic cute  fans....while they try to keep the sun out of their eyes.
Laura's senior year...last year for Holy Cross soccer.  She has played all 6 years.
You've come a long way, Laura!!!

Mark's 7th grade year....first year ever playing soccer for any team.
The team consists of 7th through 12th graders, so the "little kids" don't get a lot of playing time.
But Mark got on the field and he was hustling all the time.

Mark even touched the ball during the game.
Here's to many more great games in your future, Mark!

First Day of School

Mark very first day of school--ever!  I know I should have a photo of him getting on the bus, but I let him maintain his dignity!!
Mark heading to 7th grade is hard to believe, but just as hard to believe it that Laura is a SENIOR!!

The Alpaca Scarf has Been Completed

It came out lovely.
I ended up knitting 5 rows of garter stitch and then a stockinette stitch with 3 stitches of garter stitch at the beginning and end of each row.
I ended with another 5 rows of garter stitch.
At first I tried a few different pattern stitches, but the alpaca was a little hard to work with so I thought the beauty of the yarn would be enough....I didn't feel like it needed a fancy pattern....and I was correct.
I just love how Laura put the scarf around her neck, in a sort of slipknot, and more importantly, Laura loves it!
