I am very honored!

I was humbled to receive this award from my fellow blogger, Lisa, who always inspires me to live out my faith with my family every day, especially during this Advent and Christmas season.
Marie and Ginny began this inspirational award, and I have included here what they wrote about it:
The Prince of Peace Award

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

In a world that seems to thrive on war and violence, it is indeed a blessing to have bloggers who share their faith and love of God with others.
These blogs are passionate about their faith, are a voice for the voiceless, are sources of inspiration, hope and true kindness, they are an oasis where a weary spirit can stop for a while and rest and be refreshed.
Every act of love no matter how small is a work of peace and these bloggers go above and beyond the call to reach out to others. They bring The Prince of Peace to us; we enter as visitors and fellow bloggers and leave as friends.
At this time when we celebrate the birth of our Savior, we thank you, our friends, for all you do to make the spirit of the The Prince of Peace ever more present in our lives, not only at this time but everyday.
Please accept and share this Award with Christian bloggers who bring The Prince of Peace to others.
Love, Joy, Peace and Merry Christmas
I would to love to pass this on the fellow bloggers who are always an inspiration to me:
Charlotte at Waltzing Matilda
Rhonda at Alston Academy
Of course, there are many others-I wish I had time to add everyone to this list!

Basketball Banquet 2008

Yesterday was the Holy Cross Boy's and Girl's 2008 Basketball Banquet.(aka pizza party)
It was a rough season for the girl's team. They only had one win-but they had fun!
It was Laura's first year on the team and she is already looking forward to next year.
Amy was awarded the most improved player! Way to go, Amy!
Then it was on to the boys' awards.
(I think Matt was posing for this photo)

Danny was also awarded the most improved award. ( It must be because of their great coach that Amy and Danny both received this award.)

Matthew was awarded the most valuable player for this years team. He also was named to the first-string all-star team for the entire North Country Athlectic Conference.
Congratulations Matt!!
Way to go coach!!!
Everyone had a super season!!

Catholic Daughters-Award Winner

This year's theme of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas education contest was "Jesus: the light of the world".
We were very pleased to learn that Amy took two second places in this year's contest.

She won second place in the art category.

She also took home second place in the poetry category. Her poem is entitled:

The Light

I learned today in religion class that Jesus is the Light.
At first this made me happy, but then gave me a fright.
"If Jesus is so bright," I thought, "Will I be able to see,
When we meet face to face. Jesus Christ and me."
The only thing I've thought of. The brilliant plan of mine
Is to wear sunglasses to Heaven. To not be blinded by the shine.

Excellence Award

I was so pleased to awarded this Excellence Award from Erin over at Seven Little Australians!
It is so fun to hear that people enjoy by blog! It is especially exciting to hear from good folks in Australia.
I know that I need to bestow this award on others, and I will certainly do that soon-I have so many I enjoy. But right now-life is calling-(or crying, as the case may be)
