Melted Crayon Pumpkin

This was a great craft for Kimberly while she is in the wheel chair.
And it turned out so cute, I was very please.
Start with a ghost pumpkin.
crayons (crayola) with the labels pealed off
a hot glue gun...or a strong quick acting glue
a blow dryer
Glue the crayons to the top of the pumpkin ( our pumpkin was cold from being outside...we needed to let it warm up for the hot glue to do its job.)
Do the next step outside.  ( the crayon wax can spatter about)
Set the blow dryer on the hottest setting and have at it.
The crayons start melting.  You need to find a good angle for this or you will be spraying crayon all over everything.
Keep up the good work....after the crayons have begun melting we turned the blow dryer to a lower setting.
Kimberly's final product....I just love this.  I believe it will be a new tradition.
I can imagine how cute this would be with different color combination.
All one color of different shades...l
Rainbow colors around the pumpkin...and anything else we can think of....
We have 2 more ghost pumpkins to try this technique...I look forward to what Grace and Luke decide to do!

August 2--A New Prayer Board and New Plane

In August we made a new prayer board.  We had one several year ago that we used until it was worn out.  I finally had time to make a new one.
It's a simple...cheap...wipe off board, decorated with ribbon and stickers.  I used sharpie marker to write "please pray for..." and then we add the names of whom we are praying for in wipe off marker.  I love seeing the names throughout the day and be reminded to say a prayer for those in need.
Total cost: $2.00
Uncle Brian gave Luke this very cool plane.
It is an amazing flying machine!
First throw!

What a great first flight for Kim!!

Our 2015 Fourth of July T-Shirts

This years 4th of July t-shirts were a family affair.  Even Dad got into the production.
First we bought blue and red bandannas.
We washed the bandannas and dried and ironed them.  We then applied Heat'n Bond Ultra Hold to the cloth.  After applying the Heat'n Bond we traced different sized stars onto the paper and then cut them out.
 Cutting out the stars
Placing the stars in the perfect location onto her shirt.
 Daddy doing the ironing.
 Our super cute shirts!
Head over here to see last year's shirts.

A Great Big Whoops!

Grace was injured playing soccer on June 18th.
Today, June 29th she was diagnosed with a broken scaphoid bone.
It is a bone at the base of the thumb into the wrist.
I guess she will be enjoying a permanent "thumbs up" for the next up to 12 weeks!
