Looking back on summer...August 13

It was snowing yesterday....November 14th, so it feels good to relive the warmth of summer.

For years I have wanted to stop at this field of black-eyed susans and take pictures.

I would have been fun to have photos of all ten kids in the field, but I will have to settle for the youngest 3.

On the same day, a dear friend took us to see Stockbridge Falls...I didn't even know there was a real Stockbridge Falls. 

I just thought it was a side road on the way to Grandma's house...Stockbridge Falls Road. 

Luke lasted here for about 2 minutes and then worries overtook him and he headed back up the hill.

It was a busy day....we ended it with a trip to the beach.

I will wait for these days to return as the snow falls outside for the next 5 or 6 months. 

Pixley Falls State Park

 We finally had Daddy all to ourselves today, so we headed out on a picnic.

We tried a new spot:  Pixley Falls State Park. 

 After having a flat tire after church, we were very happy to reach our destination.

 Because of the flat tire it was well past lunch time.

 Everyone was hungry and happy to eat before heading out on a hike.

 Amy, sending Kimberly into the berry bushes to pick her some wild raspberries.

 Since it was a pretty steep hike everyone had a partner.

 We did discover a new flower to us: agrimony

 Our first peak at the 50 foot Pixley Falls.

 We made it!!  For full disclosure...the walk to the bottom of the falls is very short.

 The best smile I can expect from this 8 year old.

 Pictures don't do it justice....there is A LOT of water going over this falls.

 All right....you can all take off your shoes.
