Moreland the Magician

 David Moreland performed a wonderful show for both kids and adults alike.

He is very funny, and there was much laughter as the show went on.

 Making the typical party balloon animals, the only difference is the fact that "Professor Dave" involves all the children, keeping them laughing from beginning to end.

 Moreland the Magician can come to your child's birthday party or visit their school.  All kids, young and old, will enjoy this show.

 Professor Dave then had some audience members take part in a little play.

Luke was Evil Steve with a diabolical laugh.....the whole show was soooooo funny!

We are looking forward to seeing Professor Dave at another local library soon.

 The Out of the Cage Pet Mobile visited the Canastota Library this evening.

 The kids have a list of new pets they would like to have.

Free Summer Library Fun has Begun!

 It's that time of year.  The time to head to our local library, the Canastota Library.

There is a whole summer of fun that kicked off today with Nancy Sander from Puppets with Pizazz.

We have been coming to these free puppet shows for years and years.  I don't know how Nancy keeps coming up with such fun shows, but she does it every year.

 It was also the day to sign up for the summer reading program for the little kids and a book club for Gracie. This library really keeps us busy with craft days, animal shows, birds of prey shows, and much more fun.

 We love when Nancy reveals her secrets at the end of the show, explaining the different types of puppets and how she makes them.

A Passport to the World

It was a very important day for Kimberly and Luke.  They each got their own library card.

They were very excited this morning.  In fact they tried to wake me up at 6:30 so we would be ready to go at 9:00.  (We managed to get out the door by about 9:30.)

 

Kimberly had a little stage fright when it was time to write her name in that little white space on the card.  I just love it.  I hope she keeps it forever! A few of my big kids still have their first cards with their 6 year old signatures on them.

Luke made some wonderful choices on his own today.

Kimmy picked out three books....she has almost finished reading the Dick and Jane book.

We now have 8 people living in our home, all with a library card.  Each person can check out 30 books at a time, so in fact, we could have 240 library books to keep track of on any given day.

tonight.....watching the great magical performance of Leon Etienne of CNY Magic Shows.
He was wonderfully entertaining to both the kids and the adults.

He had a lot of big and little helpers throughout his show.

Luke was very excited to get chosen to help with a trick.

I still don't know how he did his amazing magic tricks.

Kimberly is getting ready to learn how to perform one of the tricks.

After discovering how the trick was performed, we all had to take a pledge not to share the "secret" with anyone.

As his grand finale, Leon Entienne escaped from a straight jacket.

It was a great show...I recommend Leon to anyone for a show or birthday party. Both adults and kids have a great time and you come away happily from an evening of fun, amazement and laughter!!

Of course, we wouldn't have seen this great show if it wasn't for our little Canastota Public Library, which brings all these wonderful events to our children for free!

Small town libraries are the BEST!!!

Yesterday, our little library had the pet lady visit. Last week it was a puppet show, next week a magician. Every week offers storytime and an afternoon of crafts....plus, of course, we couldn't homeschool if it wasn't for the books our interloan library system offers.
On this afternoon, we got to pet many pets from all over the world.

There is nothing as cute as a little hedgehog.

Then came out the boa constrictor.

I couldn't believe these kids were so brave...and then they were tricky and lined back up and held the snake AGAIN!!

Big kids and little....we all love the library!!

Puppets with Pizzazz!!

The anticipation was hard to contain,
but once the "puppet lady" began her magic, all attention was focused straight ahead.

Puppets with Pizzazz entertained the kids once again, as part of the summer reading program.

Today, puppeteer, Nancy Sander, performed Rupelstiltskin for the kids and adults alike.

I think I laughed from the beginning to the end of the show.

She is AMAZING!!
