Kimberly is now 40 months old.It seemed like Tot-School got away from me this week, but as I looked back, I realized that we did have many accomplishments.
I found a wonderful new Tot-School activity using these magnets this week. I bought the magnets here, and then printed the activity pages from here.
This is not an activity for any tot that still puts things in their mouths--the magnets are 7/8 of an inch and are definitely a choking hazard.
Kim just loved this activity and she did the pages I printed over and over again. At first she followed the colors, but then she enjoyed mixing her colors up.

Check out the great website about this cute character!

Kimmy has had a great time with these and make sure to check back this week for a chance to win your own Kimochi.
To go along with our Kimochis, I made this great Feelings Tot-book.
Carisa at 1+1+1=1, put this together and shared it for all of us to use!!
It contains a section for colors and another for "letter feelings" I made a little pocket for these elements of the book. Kim can take out the colors and work on them away from the lapbook. I also kept the "letter" feelings loose (but in a pocket) so we can take them out and work with them a few at a time.
Kim's favorite part of this lap book is the "How are we feeling?" card. Carisa provides these very cute faces with different feels represented. Kim can explore the faces and talk about what would make someone feel the way the picture looks.
This is what she worked with on her own after we were done working together with the book.
Kim loves to "read" this book. I also made a pocket for this so that is could be removed and read away from the lapbook.
Coloring
and more coloring.
The tot-book includes a set of feelings matching cards. Kim loves to play concentration and she is getting very good at it.
She also enjoyed playing with these cards on here own.
We made egg carton bugs this week.
You can see the whole post about these here.
This is just too cute not to add. Kim was being a hatching egg.
I got a new game to Tot-School recently: Uno Moo. (We did not pay the Amazon price---it was about half that price at Wal-Mart)
We didn't follow the directions exactly---the game includes "skunks" which cause a player to draw two extra animals--Kim didn't understand this. It also has "farmers" that are wild. This too, was something Kim didn't understand.
We played by just matching the color or animal. This worked great and Kim is enjoying this.
This week we made pebble mosaics with the help of homemade playdough.
Looks like a busy week of learning. I'll need to print the tree activity.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week for Kim. Those dot magnets are so cute. I also love the new Kimochi Bug. Very neat.
