I always have a little trouble when I join a forum, or mention in a post that we are from New York. We are from New York, but not "New York" and I wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea. There is another part a New York, a beautiful, rural New York. A peaceful, pastural New York. And that is where we are from---the hills of Madison County-New York.
It is not a New York where you can get lost in a big city. It IS a New York where you can lose a child in the hay field.

You said it!!!!!! and in such a beautiful way. There is no place like home.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a beautiful blog! How I miss my childhood days of country living. *cries*
ReplyDeletewonderful pics! Thanks for sharing! It was defiantly an I opener for this Midwest homeschooling mom! I like to tell people we are in a good metro area, in a middle of a cornfields. Because we live in the Mississippi Valley, I never picture "New York" being anything other then tall buildings and concrete. Thanks for pictures and sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat was really pretty Joann. We love our country life too. Such a beautiful area - Madison County.

I'm from THAT New York, though a few counties southeast, but equally rural and lovely! Boy, do I miss it. Going back for baseball (Cooperstown) and a visit to the extended family in 1.5 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI always make a point to add "upstate" when I tell folks here (Ohio) that I'm from NY. Of course, "upstate" is applied to those living north of Westchester Co. by folks from "the city", though I'm pretty sure true upstaters would argue over that label. :-)
What a beautiful place! And yes, I did think you were amongst the hussle and bussle of the big smoke!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! You are a very talented photographer! Sarah
ReplyDeleteI've been to New York, the city and I love it ... but I wanna see your New York!!! Such a beautiful post and what a gorgeous area of the state we never hear about (at least me being from the west coast of Canada :) )

What beautiful pictures! Your life sounds like what I've always imagined mine to be. Little ones running around in open fields, growing our own food. Ahhh, the country.
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty place! I've had the pleasure of visiting upstate (Saugerties) and it IS beautiful! I would visit there over NYC any day ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am very glad to see your site. I've never been to NY and my brother has been living there for sometime! He has struggled in the big city and so I had painted a rough picture of his life! I am so thankful to see the other side to NY! It looks peaceful and nice! Thankyou for sharing that!
