Tot School

Luke is currently 45 months old
Kimberly is 33 months old
Most of our Tot Schooling this week revolved around bigger projects that we are working on.
We did get some playdough fun in.
And Kimberly always enjoys working on her letters using the Lauri puzzle.
The big activity this week has been putting together a Goodnight Moon lapbook. I purchased this fun Goodnight Moon game and we have been enjoying it.
There are several different ways to play this game so it keeps the kid's interest.
It is a great addition to our Goodnight Moon activities.
I am going to put up a whole post of our lapbook when it is completed. The activities that are shown here are some of the parts being completed by the tots.
A Goodnight Moon alphabet booklet.
A booklet of moon songs and poems.
A very large collection of picture books from the library with the "moon" theme.
Kimberly is working here on the cover of our moon poems booklet. We colored the moon and stars and I wrote the words in crayon. Kimberly then painted over it with black watercolor.
This is crayon resist painting and it is a fun way for the kids to paint and get an unexpected result. They also enjoyed regular water paints this past week.
We also had fun participating in this weeks Reading Challenge-If You Give a Pig a Pancake. You can check out the whole post at the link above.
For this reading challenge we had to cook, so Kimberly helped me make pancakes. She just loves to help in the kitchen. I go into the kitchen and she immediately runs to get the stool so she can "help".
Make sure to check out everyone's week at 1+1+1=1. There are sure to be great ideas for your tots school.

  2. Such great projects! We're hoping to expand our family. Yours seems so wonderful!! I agree with Mary about teaching around a book. I'm going to try it when RockerTot is ready.
