Of course, I count nature study as a very big part of our schooling, so if you count all the nature we have been enjoying lately, we have done a real lot of school.
But, a more concrete academic proof is this phonics file folder game I made for Grace a few days ago. I think it is Montessori-ish. Montessori is a learning style which I am learning alot about at the 4Real Learning forum. It seems to fit our learning lifestyle very well.
Gandma H. knows that there is a GREAT amount of schooling going on. You are teaching your children all day long, every day! She is very, very proud of you and your whole family.

I L-O-V-E the picture of the rosaries!
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in your phonics file folder game. Can you give me some specifics...and where did you get the cute pictures of the animals?
I know several 'someones' that could benefit greatly from one of these.
Thanks for any help!
Blessings for a Beautiful Penecost weekend!
Betty,
ReplyDeleteon the sidebar of my blog i list dltk printable crafts. it has many wonderful
printables. I printed the call sheet from a phonics bingo game. I printed it twice, laminated both and cut up one copy and wrote the letter on the back of the cut up picture.
my child turns over so the letter shows, when she thinks she has a match she turns the card over, if it is correct the picture matches, she can check her own work--it is very nice
I'm sorry, Joann, but I'm having trouble finding the call sheet from a phonics bingo game. As a matter of fact, I can't find the phonics bingo game. I don't want to take up your time...I know it is so precious.

ReplyDeleteJoann, you are an exceptional mother and teacher and it shows in your children. Keep up the good work. I need you to teach me this blog thing. Mine is so plain compared to yours.
ReplyDeleteJoann, I tried the link you gave me but it says the page is no longer available. Oh well, thanks so much for your time...I didn't mean to take up so much of your time!!! God bless you abundantly for trying to help me!
